ANALYSIS:

Seiler won four state championships with his high school Christ Church Episcopal in Anderson, South Carolina and was named twice to the NSCAA All-American team. He also played club soccer with Carolina Elite Academy and was called into the US Soccer U-17 Residency Program. When signing with Georgetown Head Coach Brian Wiese said “Cole spent some time in residency with the US U-17 National Team and that quality shows in his play. His feet are tremendous and his soccer IQ is very high. I love his attacking qualities and think he has the ability to play any position on the field.”

Cole came into the Hoyas as the starting centre-back in his freshman year and ended his career as a four year starter at Georgetown playing in 87 career games and starting 86, he scored four career goals and added an assist. He was responsible of things on the defensive as his centre-back partner and MLS GA contract player Joshua Yaro was given more freedom to roam on the field. Seiler also played two season in PDL with Orlando City U23 in 2013 and Baltimore Bohemians in 2014.

Seiler was invited to the 2016 MLS Combine and impressed scouts with his smart and steady defensive play and also showed some strong passing skills out of the back. Where Cole lacks is athletically he does have average size at 6’1/180 although he is not a power centre-back or one who has the ability to also play full back. He is very steady and can play a full 90 minutes and expected to be drafted potentially in the second round and would also be an asset for a club with a USL side.

Seiler was drafted 16th overall in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Signed a MLS contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps.
