ANALYSIS:

Schweitzer was born in Dallas, Texan but has been part of the Seattle Sounders Academy team since the age of 16. He has played with  playing the Sounders U-16 and U-18 USSDA sides as well as three seasons with the Sounders U23 PDL club. Sounders FC director of Youth Development said of Schweitzer “Jordan is a consummate lifer in soccer. He is the first to arrive and last to leave and he improves with each season.”

Jordan choose to attend Denver University, where the head coach Bobby Muuss said “Jordan is a very, very good soccer player in the truest sense of the phrase. He is a good passer of the ball, he strikes a good ball from distance, he reads the game well and is a soccer junkie that is constantly analyzing and working on his game. He comes from an MLS academy (Seattle Sounders) where he has been exposed to the highest levels of American soccer.”

In three seasons with Denver, Schweitzer has played in 54 games, starting 52 of them, scoring two goals, and adding 3 assists. He also has accumulated 19 yellow cards playing mostly in a holding or box-to-box midfield role. Jordan has shown to be a hard worker, but hasn’t shown the offensive touch in college as he showed during his time with the Sounders in USSDA where he scored 12 goals. Schweitzer has been a favourite of the Sounders the past few years and it is expected they will offer him a Homegrown contract after the 2015 college season.
