ANALYSIS

Dustin was born in the United States and was a prominent player in youth soccer. He won Oregon State Player of the Year and represented the United States U17 national team 27 times scoring 15 goals. He also attended the U-17 World Cup but did not play in any games with the United States.

After High School, Dustin decided to go the pro route over college and trialed with major European clubs Juventus, Fiorentina, Palermo and Club Brugge. After playing a preseason with El Salvadoran club Atletico Marte, he moved to Blokus in the Danish 3rd Division where he played in 19 games scoring two goals. He then moved to Jonkopings Sodra where he scored two goals in four games and Skive IK back in Denmark where he played 11 games and scored two goals. In September of 2014 Corea’s contract was cancelled by mutual consent.

In 2010 Corea also decided to play with El Salvador national team oppose to the United States he played in U-20 qualifications but missed out on the Championship. He has since played with the U23 team and two games with the senior national team. Corea is also playing club soccer in El Salvador with FAS and is currently on a one year contract.

Keith Fulk, a longtime coach with the US U-17 Team said of Dustin “His soccer skills speak for themselves, he’s left-footed, he’s fast and technical, he can strike the heck out of the ball” the issue for Corea is he hasn’t shown the scoring touch he had with the United States youth team and not fulfilling what is expected from him when signed. A scout also mention that fact he rejected both the MLS and the USMNT has hurt his chances of returning to play in the United States. With FAS, Dustin has shown to be a leader in the midfielder and a contributor on offense and has the ability to be impactful at a higher level.
