ANALYSIS:

From Cheshire, England, Paul Clowes was part of the Manchester City Football Club Academy since the age of 6. He became a club apprentice in 2010, playing for the Manchester City Youth team and was called up twice and played for the Manchester City U21 side in the English Premier Reserve League. Clowes also played in the FA Youth Cup as well as the NextGen Series, which included the top Academies across Europe.

Paul decided to attended American University oppose to signing as a professional and chose to attend Clemson University. In four seasons at Clemson, Clowes played in 85 games, starting 81 of them, he scored four goals and added 10 assists splinting time as a centre-back as well as playing as a holding midfielder. He was named to the All-ACC second team in 2014 and to the first team in 2015. He ended his college career losing the 2015 NCAA National Championship game to Stanford. Paul also played two seasons in the PDL with Orlando City U-23.

Paul is known as a defensive first player who likes to be active and was able to beat most forwards he was up against during his college career. His vast English Academy experience means he has a great awareness of the game and has a good technique and distributer of the ball. Paul was invited to the 2016 MLS Combine and will be available in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft. Clowes has the ability to fit right in a MLS club side once drafted although because he is not American he will count for international spot.
